We are currently 36,648 acres short of the 50,000-acre requirement needed to stabilize the season.
KID has led the way; we now need our neighbors to match that resolve. Enroll your acres today to ensure we can meet our delivery mandates.
The Anchor of the Basin’s Modernization:
KID continues to set the standard for the Klamath Reclamation Project, operating as a “mega district” that supports the broader region through aggressive modernization and water management.
Our nearly $5 million investment in modernization over the last 7 years is not just a line item; it is a shield against drought.
• A Canal Efficiency: In April 2026, KID diverted only 12,240 AF. This is 15.2% below the historical average of 14,430 AF, achieved during a dry year with extreme soil moisture deficits.
The A Canal is 43% below historical “drought” diversion flows (set during the dryest springs) for April.
• May Projections: As of May 11, KID has diverted only 8,770 AF. We are on track to stay significantly under the May average of 35,170 AF.
A Disproportionate Burden: 2026 DRA Enrollment KID is carrying the weight of the 2026 Drought Response Agency (DRA) program.
To make the 0.75 AF delivery plan viable for Warren Act (Article 13(b)(c)) contracts, we must hit a 50,000-acre goal.
DRA Participation (as of May 14, 2026):
